The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran today held subsequent political consultations. The Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan, and the Iranian delegation — by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran for Political Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.

During the consultations, the parties discussed several issues on the Armenian-Iranian political agenda, touched upon the bilateral economic agenda and exchanged views on other major issues of mutual interest.

The parties also attached importance to the ensuring of continuation of the political consultations.
