The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson congratulated Joe Biden on winning the US presidential election, BBC reported.

Johnson said he was looking forward to working closely together on common priorities.

"The US is our important ally and I look forward to working closely together on our shared priorities, from climate change to trade and security," the PM tweeted.

Johnson also congratulated Kamala Harris on "her historic achievement" as she will be the country's first female vice-president.
