Yerevan is in constant touch with Moscow in regard to the downing of the Russian helicopter; Baku’s operations are an act of aggression. This is what Ambassador of Armenia to the Russian Federation Vardan Toghanyan told RIA Novosti.

Toghanyan stated that, in this situation, the partnership with Moscow is in the bilateral format, without the involvement of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. “Yerevan will take further steps in regard to the incident, based on the development of the situation,” Toghanyan said.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense had reported that the Russian Mi-24 was downed in the airspace of Armenia, beyond the zone of military operations. Two members of the personnel died, one was brought out of the helicopter with medium grave injuries. Azerbaijan has admitted that it shot down the Russian helicopter 'by mistake'.
