President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin says the interdepartmental center for humanitarian response in Nagorno-Karabakh will help the state bodies of Armenia and Azerbaijan smoothen cooperation between them and with international humanitarian organizations in case of need, RIA Novosti reported.

Today Putin held a consultation over the solutions to humanitarian issues in Nagorno-Karabakh and announced the creation of an interdepartmental center for humanitarian response which will also deal with the return of refugees. Putin stated that the center will collaborate with the state bodies of Azerbaijan and Armenia to create conditions for normal life and activities and restore civilian infrastructures in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The center will deal with the coordination of the activities of state organizations, and I fully hope international organizations support the center, as well as the state bodies of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said.
