Russian and Azerbaijani FMs have discussed the progress of the implementation of agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh.

The phone talks were held Sunday on the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, Russian MFA reported.

Special attention was paid to the coordination of the practical steps of the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh statement in the context of the deployment of the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian armed forces and the organization of its work on the ground.

The ministers also reaffirmed the need to actively involve international organizations, including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Development Program, UNESCO, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to promote post-conflict reconstruction, address humanitarian issues, and preserve religious and cultural heritage in the region.
