A magnitude 5.6 earthquake was recorded in the southern part of Fiji on Monday, reported the United States Geological Survey.

The epicenter was reported 659 kilometers southwest of the capital Suva, with a population of about 77,300, and 530 km beneath the surface.

There is no information on possible damage and tsunami risk.
