The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan on Wednesday denied the defense's motion to release former MP Levon Sargsyan on bail; Armenian News-NEWS.am learned about this from Ashot Sargsyan, one of Levon Sargsyan's attorneys.

The lawyer noted that they are not familiarized with the court decision yet.

He added, however, that this criminal case was opened on very suspicious grounds.

Levon Sargsyan is accused of ordering the robbery of the house of the former head of the State Customs Committee, Armen Avetisyan, about 12 years ago.

Levon Sargsyan been wanted since October 2018.

In November 2019, Sargsyan was found in Moscow and extradited to Armenia.
