YEREVAN. – During the [recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war, we noticed and felt some change in the conduct of taxpayers, which was reflected in a higher degree of discipline, which is extremely important. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

"We wanted to record the issue of citizens' activities and the ability of the state to generate taxes and pay taxes. This awareness should be seriously encouraged because the power of any state depends on what opportunities the citizens of a given country have for engaging in economic activity, what results they generate, and how the tax obligations are fulfilled. Improving tax discipline is a strategic issue, and it is proposed to have a high level of trust toward and create favorable conditions for duteous taxpayers," Pashinyan added.
