YEREVAN. – The hearing of the criminal case against Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials has resumed Tuesday at the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan.

The previous court session on February 16 was adjourned due to the deteriorating health of defendant Yuri Khachaturov, former Secretary General of the CSTO.

Earlier, presiding Judge Anna Danibekyan had denied the motion to lift the pretrial measure against Khachaturov.

Initially, the court had ruled that Khachaturov be remanded in custody, but then this ruling was commuted to his being released on bail.

Also, a motion has been submitted to the court to allow defendant Armen Gevorgyan, the former Deputy Prime Minister, to travel to Russia. The court has not yet considered this motion.
