China is not ready to join the United States and allow the Boeing 737 Max to resume flights after a two-year shutdown caused by a pair of air crashes, AP reported.

China became the first country to ban the 737 Max from flights in 2019 after planes crashed in Indonesia and Ethiopia, leaving 346 people killed. In November, US regulators allowed the aircraft to resume commercial flights after Boeing updated its software and received additional training.

According to China, the technical expertise has not yet entered the certification and flight test stage.
