Turkey isn’t even thinking about hiding the fact that it has an appetite for Nagorno-Karabakh as a price for the “services” provided to Azerbaijan.

Today Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusogly met with Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Anar Kerimov in Ankara, Turan reports, citing Anadolu News Agency. Cavusoglu “expressed the willingness of the official Ankara to support the restoration of the objects of cultural heritage of Azerbaijan that were damaged during the years of Armenian occupation in Nagorno-Karabakh”. The Turkish official also announced Ankara’s willingness to support Baku “in all international platforms, including the UNESCO”.

First Lady of Azerbaijan, Vice-President and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador (2004) Mehriban Aliyeva clearly showed how Baku fulfills the commandments of the UNESCO. Aliyeva couldn’t find anything smarter to do than to trample a panel in Armenian letters in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh along with her husband, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. This is exactly how Azerbaijani soldiers behaved themselves (they shot at monuments, destroyed churches, crushed tombstones and posted news about their “heroic acts” on the Internet). Everyone knows how the authorities of Azerbaijan are preparing to “restore” the cultural heritage in the occupied sector of Nagorno-Karabakh. Everyone still remembers very well how this happened in Nakhchivan. The authorities of Azerbaijan “restored” the unique cross-stones of Armenian heritage with heavy equipment and bulldozers. At the time, the UNESCO only reprimanded. Now the authorities of Azerbaijan simply aren’t letting the representatives of the UNESCO enter the occupied regions until Turkey possibly helps Azerbaijan “restore” the cultural heritage.
