In the period between February 25 and 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received applications from 62 foreign media outlets asking to provide coverage of the events taking place in the country. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The media outlets are mainly reputable foreign news agencies such as Associated Press, Russia Today and France Presse.

Other media outlets also submitted applications after the mentioned period, but the Armenian MFA still doesn’t have the final data on the total number of foreign media outlets that have submitted applications.

On February 25, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia issued a statement demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Government. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan considered the statement a military coup attempt and invited his supporters to Republic Square in Yerevan.
