YEREVAN. – The hearing of the criminal case against Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials has resumed Tuesday at the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan.

The previous three hearings did not take place, first because of defendant—and CSTO former Secretary General—Yuri Khachaturov falling ill, then because of the absence of the lawyer of defendant—and former Deputy Prime Minister—Armen Gevorgyan, and then because of the absence of Gevorgyan himself, who is suspected of contracting the coronavirus.

Today the court intends to discuss the reasons for the absence of Armen Gevorgyan's lawyer, who had informed the court earlier about a session he had to attend at the Court of Appeal.
