Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hopes that Turkey will continue to support China in matters related to Xinjiang, Interfax reports.

The essence of the Xinjiang issue is the fight against violence, the fight against separatism, he noted expressing hope that the Turkish side will continue to show understanding and support China on issues affecting the fundamental interests and main concerns of China.

The Chinese diplomat said that Beijing is ready to work with Turkey to strengthen mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and take the Sino-Turkish strategic cooperation to a new level. He also noted that China supports the Turkish policy of independence, respects the social system, economic model and development path chosen in accordance with its own national conditions. He also invited Turkish athletes to compete in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Cavusoglu announced Ankara's support for the principle of one China, commitment to further strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries, and noted that Turkey will not participate in any anti-Chinese actions, will not allow violent actions against China on its territory.

The sides spoke in favor of using various mechanisms in deepening economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries, strengthening political contacts and coordinating actions.
