It’s impossible for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Russian Federation to refuse to fulfill their duties to Armenia as allies. This is what acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in response to independent MP Tigran Urikhanyan’s question in parliament today.

The deputy particularly asked if Armenia is considering a scenario when the CSTO and Russia refuse to support Yerevan, if Armenia decides to carry out punitive actions against the Azerbaijani Armed Forces that have invaded Armenian territory.

“The President of Russia has publicly announced and told Armenia that the border of Armenia is a “red line” for the Russian Federation,” Pashinyan said, yet regretted to state that Azerbaijan has crossed that “red line”.

Pashinyan added that the encroachments on the territory of Armenia are the equivalent to encroachments on the territory of the Russian Federation.
