The United Nations has issued an appeal for $ 95 million in aid to Palestinians over the next three months in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, AFP reported.

Lynn Hastings, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the Palestinian Territories, said the UN is currently examining urgent aid needs and then assessing the long-term damage.

 According to her, the appeal is aimed at meeting the most urgent needs such as food, health, medicines, rapid infrastructure repairs, and financial assistance.

The UN has already allocated $ 22.5 million from other funds to meet the needs.

Qatar separately said it would commit $ 500 million to rebuild Gaza, while the US pledged an additional $ 75 million in development and economic aid to the Palestinians in 2021, $ 5.5 million in immediate disaster relief for Gaza, and $ 32 million dollars to the UN agency on aid to the Palestinians.

Palestinian officials estimate reconstruction costs at tens of millions of dollars.
