The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction today obliged to abolish the violations of the rights and lawful interests of chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council (powers are temporarily suspended) Ruben Vardazaryan.

Attorney Hovhannes Khudoyants told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the court recorded that the body conducting proceedings was obliged to overcome the functional immunity of Ruben Vardazaryan, which it hadn’t done.

Ruben Vardazaryan is charged with obstructing the implementation of justice by use of official position, and a signature to not leave has been selected as a pre-trial measure.

A criminal case has been instituted, without overcoming his immunity, based on the report filed by former judge and newly appointed Deputy Director of the National Security Service Andranik Simonyan.
