As a result of the voting held within the framework of the 66th Meeting of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for Europe held in Athens, Armenia was elected a member of the UNWTO Executive Council for the period 2021-2025, which will contribute to the improvement of Armenia's position and the increase of its recognition in the European region. This was reported by the Republic of Armenia (RA) Ministry of Economy

"This is also an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with other member states of the council.

It was decided to hold the 67th Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe in Armenia in 2022.

Alfred Kocharyan, acting chairman of the Tourism Committee of the RA Ministry of Economy, attended the meeting [in Athens]," the aforesaid ministry's Facebook page also reads.
