By the decision of Governor of Shirak Province of Armenia Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Director of Gyumri Polyclinic #1 Ayvaz Sukiasyan, Principal of School #38 in Gyumri Arpine Nikoghosyan and Principal of the school in Geghanist village Karine Ghazaryan have been dismissed.

The already former principal of the school in Gyumri Arpine Nikoghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the decision came as a surprise. “Before the elections, I was randomly called and told that it had been decided that I was dismissed for no reason. I think this is political persecution since I was dismissed just because I’m a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party,” she said, adding that she has already appealed the regional governor’s decision to the Administrative Court and that even if she isn’t rehired, she will apply to the European Court of Human Rights.

As for the principal of the school in Geghanist village, she said there was no ground for dismissal, adding that the decision stated that there was lack of confidence and that she has already appealed the decision to court.
