Mayor of Meghri Mkhitar Zakaryan has resigned. The news was confirmed by Deputy Mayor of Meghri Armen Samvelyan, who also informed that one of the reasons why Zakaryan submitted his resignation letter was because he is going to receive a parliamentary mandate.

Asked if there was any pressure on Zakaryan, the deputy mayor said Zakaryan had resigned by his own will.

Samvelyan informed that he will also resign soon and will be substituting Zakaryan until then.
