Peru’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Juan Genaro del Campo Rodriguez—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow—, on Thursday presented his letter of credence to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, the press service of the President's Office reports.

President Sarkissian expressed confidence that the ambassador will contribute to the intensification of bilateral relations. Ambassador del Campo Rodriguez, in turn, stressed that he is ready to take practical steps to develop Armenian-Peruvian relations.

The subsequent meeting focused on the avenues for the development of cooperation and intensification of ties, as well as the promotion of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

It was noted that there is potential for cooperation, especially in high technology, mining, and education.

And from the point of view of increasing contacts between the two peoples, the parties stressed the importance of cooperation in the cultural sphere and the implementation of exchange programs.
