Mikheil Saakashvili’s wife, Sandra Rulofs posted on her Facebook page a comment supporting her husband and addressed to the citizens of Georgia, Sputnik Armenia reports.

Saakashvili’s arrest in Georgia was announced on Friday evening.

“He informed us about his plan and showed the real face of the government and the defects of the system. Tomorrow you will assess his heroism,” Rulofs wrote.

However, while she was posting supportive comments on social networks, it turned out that the ex-president…already has a new wife.

“Liza and I decided to let everyone know that we are together. We are starting a new life and a new family,” Saakashvili said in his video that his new wife, Liza Yasko disseminated.

The caption reads that the video was made before Saakashvili departed for Georgia.

Before this, it was known that Saakashvili is married to Sandra Rulofs and they have two sons.

Yelizaveta Yasko is a political scientist, an expert on culture and a People’s Deputy of the 9th convocation of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine from the “Servant of the People” political party, as well as former leader of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Mikheil Saakashvili served two consecutive terms as President of Georgia. He left Georgia in November 2013 and hadn’t returned to the country until today, even though he had promised to do so. In 2015, he was deprived of Georgian citizenship and has been considered a citizen of Ukraine for over six years.
