According to preliminary data, 16 parachutists were killed after an L-410 plane crashed in Tatarstan, seven were admitted to a hospital, RIA Novosti reports, citing the emergency services representative.

As reported earlier, at 9:23 a.m. there was a report about a plane crash near the base of radio-electronic resources in the city of Menzelinsk.

Inquest officers of the central interregional transport department of the Investigative Committee are working at the scene of the emergency situation.
