Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Anne Louyot.

As reported the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Dumanyan congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment and expressed confidence that her activities will contribute to further strengthening of the relations between both countries.

The minister mentioned that he met with Minister of Culture of France Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin during his visit to Paris to attend the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Henri Vernon and discussed the opportunities for joint programs (the countries are currently working on drafting and signing a cooperation document).

In this regard, Dumanyan told the Ambassador he anticipates her support to implement the document and joint events and attached importance to the first Armenian-French Scientific-Medical Conference to be held on October 13-15 in Yerevan and dedicated to the activities carried out to care for those who were injured during the 44-day war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Dumanyan added that he had met with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay during his visit to France.

In her turn, the French Ambassador stated that it’s a great honor for any diplomat to be an ambassador to Armenia and added that she will do her best for further deepening of cooperation in the areas of education, science, culture, sport and youth affairs.

The parties touched upon the program for organizing advanced French language instruction at general education schools in Armenia which will contribute to the advancement of the French language in the country. They also touched upon preservation of cultural heritage, training for French language teachers and possible cooperation in the sport sector.
