Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan today received representatives of UNDP Armenia’s “Modern Parliament for Modern Armenia” Program.

As reported the National Assembly of Armenia, greeting the guests, Simonyan attached importance to the effective cooperation of the National Assembly with the UNDP for institutional capacity building of the National Assembly and underscored the need to expand cooperation through the implementation of joint programs.

Representative of the UNDP in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili expressed gratitude for the reception and reaffirmed the UNDP’s willingness to support the capacity-building of the parliament and the reforms underway in parliamentary frameworks in different formats.

The UNDP representative stated that the organization supports the Armenian government and the National Assembly to build new capacities for making reforms which will contribute to more effective work and help raise the level of accountability of institutions and elected representatives.
