Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan today met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia Igor Zorcic, as reported the Public Relations and Communication Department of the National Assembly.

Simonyan attached importance to the friendly relations with Slovenia and the effective cooperation between the legislatures of both countries. In this context, the interlocutors emphasized the need for deepening of the cooperation.

The Armenian parliamentary speaker highly appreciated Slovenia’s balanced approach to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict according to which the country supports the activities of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the common stance of the European Union. He also expressed gratitude to the Slovenian side for the offer to provide humanitarian aid to the Armenian soldiers who received fractures during the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia invited his Slovenian counterpart to pay an official visit to Armenia.
