Today in the afternoon the Azerbaijani army’s leading units opened irregular fire in the direction of Karmir Shuka community of Martuni region of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) with rifles.

This is what Spokesperson of the Defense Army of Artsakh Suren Sarumyan said during a conversation with Artsakhpress.

“According to preliminary data, there are no victims,” he stated, adding that the Defense Army has reported the incident to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh.

Gunshots were also heard from the Azerbaijani side in the section of Sargsashen village of Martuin region as well. During a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, head of the administration of Martuni region Edik Avanesyan informed that there were no gunshots fired in the direction of the village, adding that there were “only one or two gunshots from a distance”, everything is normal”.

On October 14, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces attacked the Nor Shen settlement of Martuni region, injuring 6 soldiers of the Defense Army whose lives aren’t at risk. That same day, gunshots were fired at Harav village of Askeran region. Earlier, on October 9, resident of Martakert city Aram Tepnants was shot by an Azerbaijani sniper and died in his tractor while farming in the garden near the city.
