Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan responded to the questions of the opposition MPs at the parliamentary standing committees’ joint debates Thursday on Armenia’s draft state budget for 2022.

Anna Grigoryan, a lawmaker from the opposition “Armenia” Faction, stated that the 2022 draft budget does not mention anything with respect to the foreign ministry's future activities toward the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

The deputy FM, in turn, attempted to allay these concerns.

"For Armenia, the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is not only a matter of restoring historical justice, but also the security of the country and the Armenian people in general. We have recorded that in all the basic documents, and we will continue to work in that format," Gevorgyan said.
