We are entering the year 2022 with a quite serious start to reforms. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

"After many years of discussions, we ultimately made this decision to reduce the number of non-working days of the New Year, which, I believe, is a justified decision. In fact, we must record that with this decision, we emphasize that in the coming years we must focus more on work and concrete results.

At the same time, with this [decision] we do not in any way diminish the right of our citizens to rest because the legislation provides for 20 working days’ vacation for working citizens. In addition to this, we have 12 non-working days.

This policy is not temporary, we have to get used to this regimen of life. We do not intend to make any changes [to this]. There was an opinion that we might declare the following days as non-working. But we have made our political decision [in this regard], and we will move forward," Pashinyan added.
