The British side wants Russian troops and military equipment deployed near the Ukrainian border to be moved elsewhere, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said.

Her remarks came at a press conference after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reported.

According to Moskovskiy Komsomolets, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that Russia had two options in the situation with Ukraine - cooperation with NATO or increasing troops on the border with the neighboring republic. She said this at a news conference following talks with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

Truss said the British side continues to see an increase in Russian troops on the border with Ukraine, as well as the hybrid and cyber warfare that Russia is waging.

"Russia has a choice here. We strongly encourage them to engage, de-escalate and choose the path of diplomacy," Foreign Secretary Liz Truss concluded.
