A separate meeting of the Presidents of the United States and Turkey, Joe Biden and Tayyip Erdogan, dedicated to the defense of the alliance and the bilateral agenda, will be held as part of the NATO summit that started in Madrid.

The press service of the US president reported that Biden plans to meet with the Turkish president to discuss the collective defense and security of the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as a number of important issues in bilateral relations.

The leaders' meeting is scheduled for 17:45 local time.

Also, Joe Biden is scheduled to participate in plenary meetings of the heads of NATO member states on June 29, as well as tripartite contacts with the leaders of Japan and South Korea.

The summit of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance started in Madrid and will last until June 30.
