The US Army has received the first batch of 5,000 high-tech combat goggles made by Microsoft, designed to provide an additional indication of the battlefield of soldiers of the ground forces, similar to the helmets of combat aircraft pilots, Bloomberg reports.

According to the agency, now the glasses have begun to arrive in army units for further testing. To equip all divisions with new devices, the Pentagon plans to spend $ 21.9 billion over the next 10 years.

The results of the preliminary tests of the glasses will be made public within a month, but it is already known that during them were found problems with the performance of the device, which Microsoft was ordered to fix.
