Azerbaijan has been unwilling to comply with the peace process, and we must  hold them accountable. US Congressman Jim Costa wrote this on Twitter—and with respect to Azerbaijan’s current military aggression against Armenia.

“I condemn Azerbaijan’s unprovoked attack on Armenia. My heart goes out to the people of Armenia and I stand strong with them. Azerbaijan has been unwilling to comply with the peace process and we must hold them accountable,” the American lawmaker tweeted. 

Starting from 12:05am on Tuesday, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces started firing intensively—from artillery and large-caliber firearms—at Armenia’s positions toward Goris, Kapan, Sotk, Jermuk, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar. The adversary is using drones, too. The intense shootout continues as a result of this large-scale provocation by the Azerbaijani side. The Armenian Armed Forces are retaliating appropriately. The Ministry of Defense informs that the Armenian side has casualties and wounded; the respective data are being verified.
