Armenia will not participate in CSTO exercises in Kazakhstan this year. The decision is related to the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the Defense Ministry stated in response to Infocom's request.

Earlier the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan informed that from September 26 to October 8, exercises "Interaction-2022", "Search-2022" and "Echelon-2022" will be held in Zhambyl and Almaty regions.

When asked about the participation of Armenia in the exercise, the MOD stated that "taking into account the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as a result of Azerbaijani aggression, the Armenian Defense Ministry, based on the tasks assigned to the Armenian Armed Forces, decided to refrain from the participation of Armenian Armed Forces units in the exercise within the CSTO in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
