The National Assembly (NA) on Thursday announced the results of the secret ballot for the election of new members of the Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia.
There were two candidates for the vacant positions: Karen Andreasyan and Yeranuhi Tumanyants. Both candidates were nominated by the ruling Civil Contract Party, and they received the unanimous support of the MPs; 67 parliamentarians voted for them.
After the announcement of the results of the closed secret ballot, both candidates were sworn in.
But the NA opposition—represented by the "Armenia" and "With Honor" Factions—did not participate in the voting as well as in the respective debates. It continues to boycott the activities of the parliament.
