The bill on Finland's membership in NATO prepared by the government of the republic allows the deployment of nuclear weapons in its territory, Iltalehti newspaper wrote citing sources in the sphere of foreign policy and security of the country.
The document on Finland's joining the North Atlantic Alliance is almost ready and will be submitted for review within two weeks.
According to the newspaper, the bill also does not ban deployment of military bases and NATO military contingent in the country.
The document is being prepared by the Foreign Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Defense Ministry, and the presidential administration.
According to one of the newspaper sources, nuclear weapons can be placed in Finland, for example, on F-35 fighters which Helsinki has ordered 64 aircraft.
