The U.S. financial authorities have made it difficult to circulate the dollar worldwide, said Chair of the Central Bank of Armenia Martin Galstyan at the joint session of the parliamentary committees in the National Assembly of Armenia on Monday.

Responding to a question from MPs on why the fees for cashing out have increased in the republic, Galstyan said that there are no tariffs in the case of Armenian AMD.

"The fees have increased only in case of currency as any currency is subject to the policy of the issuing country. If previously Armenian banks could borrow cash dollars at 0,1-0,2%, now this rate has increased and the procedures have become more complicated. They have even become more complicated, including the fact that the accepting banks are required to specify to whom a certain banknote will be issued," he noted.

In general, Galstyan noted that they keep on with the policy of expanding non-cash turnover.
