There have never been any production pickups in BMW's history, which didn't stop the factory specialists from making a light truck based on the BMW X7 crossover as an experiment, and the BMW M division made a pickup from the BMW M3 sports car for Laugh Day ten years ago.

In 2022, another BMW pickup debuted at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, where STEK Automotive transformed the latest-generation BMW M4 sports car.

The transformation of the car took six months and many hours of painstaking handiwork by the specialists.

Bought new in April 2022, the car fell into the hands of atelier DinMann, which turned the coupe into a stylish pickup truck by November. Upgrades include a body transformation that cut off the rear end of the body and replaced it with a new steel cargo compartment, the rear side of which is made from the coupe's trunk lid.

The decorative trim is made of carbon fiber, as are some of the aerodynamic trim elements. The interior, not counting the new carbon fiber trim panels, remains standard. Shortened cabin did not allow maintaining the second row of seats, so the two-seater pickup has only a small shelf for the driver and passenger hand luggage behind the sports seats.

Technically, the BMW M4 Maloo has not changed, retaining the 510-horsepower 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive xDrive. It is not reported how the dynamic performance has changed after this transformation.
