It's time to raise the minimum wage in Armenia, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Sargsyan stated at the session of the National Assembly during the discussion of the package of bills on amending the law "On minimum wage" and amendments to related laws on Tuesday.

The increase, as noted by the deputy minister, is expected next year. It is proposed to raise minimum monthly salary from 68 thousand drams to 75 thousand drams. The initiative, according to Sarkisian, stems from the government's action program.

"In developing the project took into account both the current socio-economic situation and the results of the analysis of databases containing information on macroeconomic indicators of the country. The minimum wage in the country is planned to increase from January 1, 2023," explained the deputy minister.
