Two vessels collided on Saturday night in the Sea of Marmara off the coast of Istanbul, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of the Turkish Coast Guard.

"The 126-meter container ship Burhan Dizman collided near the area of Akhirkapi with the 147-meter dry cargo ship Turan C," the Coast Guard said in a press release.

Two tugboats and a speedboat were sent to the scene of the accident. Both vessels were safely towed to the berth of Ahırkapı.

Causes of the accident are not specified.
