Ruben Rubinyan, deputy speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, believes that the opinions voiced during the NA debates organized by the parliamentary opposition today are intended to absolve the parties who violated the 6th point of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 from accountability. Rubinyan noted as follows on Facebook:

"I am listening to the hearing organized by the opposition in NA on the topic of [Azerbaijan’s ongoing] closure of the Lachin corridor [that links Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia]. Some of the speakers say that the Lachin corridor was closed because Armenia promised a corridor [to Azerbaijan] and does not give [it]. The other part says that after the Prague meeting, there is no more a Lachin corridor and that it is the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan, so they [i.e., the Azerbaijanis] would close [it]. What were they to do?

An opposition archbishop even insinuated that it was Armenia that closed the Lachin corridor. As a result, everyone agreed that the treacherous [Armenian] authorities should be removed [from power] immediately to [re]open the corridor.

All these texts, dear friends, are aimed at only one goal: to justify the closure of the corridor in every possible way and to absolve the parties who violated point 6 of the [trilateral] statement of November 9[, 2020] from accountability. And why they do this, guess for yourself.”
