Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday held a joint news conference in Istanbul with his Argentinian counterpart, writes Ermenihaber.am.

"After the Armenia-Azerbaijan war in the [South] Caucasus [in 2020], an important opportunity for peace and stability has appeared. At our meeting today, I also conveyed information to my Argentinian colleague about the steps being taken in this matter, the steps of Turkey-Armenia, Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization," Cavusoglu said.

According to him, their goal is to make the South Caucasus a region of stability and development. The Turkish FM claimed that his country and Azerbaijan were taking sincere steps in this regard, and that they were “encouraging” Armenia in this regard.

"I believe that in the near future, the South Caucasus will be a region where development, stability, and peace will be spoken about," concluded the Turkish foreign minister.
