Russian Ambassador to Tallinn Vladimir Lipaev left Estonia on February 8, said the official representative of the Estonian Foreign Ministry, Anna Tisler-Lavrentjev, reports Izvestia.

"The Russian embassy has fulfilled the requirements, which were established by a note of the Estonian Foreign Ministry," Tisler-Lavrentjev said. She also confirmed the information that the Estonian ambassador left Moscow the day before, as he had been instructed by the Russian side. Foreign Ministry representative specified that number of diplomats and 15 members of administrative, technical and service staff of Embassy of Russian Federation had to be reduced till February 1. Before that, the embassy employed 21 diplomats and 23 seconded staff.

Tallinn announced its decision to reduce the size of the Russian diplomatic mission on January 11. In response, Moscow lowered diplomatic relations with Tallinn.
