The Armenian prime minister considers the work towards Syria to be very important, too. PM Nikol Pashinyan noted this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government—reflecting on the devastating earthquake in Syria and the humanitarian aid sent to that country from Armenia.

"There were many objective and subjective circumstances that were making humanitarian aid to Syria less accessible. Armenia was one of the first countries to make a decision and send humanitarian aid to Syria," Pashinyan said.

He added that the Armenian foreign minister's visit to Syria was being planned, thereby once again expressing Armenia's support to Syria.

"If our colleagues in Syria do not mind, we will organize such a visit in the near future. Also, the commissioner of diaspora affairs shall pay a visit to Syria. We should be in communication with the governments of [earthquake-ravaged] Turkey and Syria to the extent of our capabilities to see what possible assistance we can provide, which is within our capabilities and there is a need for this assistance," said the Armenian premier.
