Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu today, Azerbaijani media reported.

"During the phone conversation, they discussed search and rescue work in the areas affected by the earthquake, issues of humanitarian aid. Ceyhun Bayramov reiterated his condolences for the numerous victims of the earthquake and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He noted that Azerbaijan is by Turkey's side in these difficult days, as always, and will continue its support for the elimination of the consequences of the natural disaster. Bayramov expressed confidence that Turkey will also withstand this difficult test.

During the conversation, Mevlut Cavusoglu spoke in detail about the current situation in the earthquake region and the course of the rescue efforts. They also exchanged views on the current situation in the region and other issues of mutual interest," the statement said.
