In Turkey, people in the regions affected by the recent devastating earthquake, should prepare for new tremors. Seismologists expect aftershocks of magnitude greater than five, said a representative of the Turkish Emergency Situations Ministry, DW reports.

At present, every four minutes, tremors are felt in the region. So far, more than 4,700 aftershocks have already been registered, and the magnitude of forty of them exceeded four. "This is a very unusual situation," said Rep. According to Urban Planning Minister Murat Kurum, more than 84,000 homes in Turkey have been destroyed or severely damaged by the disaster.

In the disaster areas, people are still advised not to return to their homes and stay away from buildings. Nevertheless, local residents, in the absence of alternatives, are forced to return home for clothes and personal belongings. According to Turkish authorities, 20 million people have been affected by the recent earthquake. More than 38,000 people died in Turkey alone, and at least 5,900 in neighboring Syria.
