An earthquake with magnitude 4.5 was registered on Monday off the coast of Sicily, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.

The epicenter of underground shocks was located 94 km to the northeast from Palermo city, where about 648 thousand people live. The source was located at a depth of 17 km.

There was no information about destructions and victims.
