Russia does not see any prerequisites for moving the situation in Ukraine to a peaceful course, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday, TASS reported.

"The special military operation continues. There are no prerequisites for moving that situation to a peaceful course. That is why Russia achieves the fulfillment of its tasks and goals through the further implementation of a special military operation," he said in response to the question of how the settlement plan proposed by China can affect the situation.

In addition, the representative of the Kremlin noted that such a big, huge, powerful, and prestigious country as China "has to have its word on the issues that are at the forefront of the world agenda".

"We pay great attention to the judgments we hear from our colleagues in Beijing," assured Peskov.

Speaking about the place that topic can occupy in the upcoming talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Peskov reminded that the two countries are in constant contact at various levels, and the heads of state conduct "quite meaningful and reliable dialogue."
