The streets of the Turkish city of Iskenderun in Hatay Province are under water due to the sharp rise in the sea level after the recent earthquakes in the country, Haber Turk reported.

The travel of vehicles and pedestrians has become difficult in this city, and some of its streets are completely closed.

Professor Huseyin Ozturk, head of the department of geological engineering at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, noted that the coast line in Iskenderun has been flooded and advanced 100-101 meters. His team is currently studying the consequences of the disaster.

The respective footage shows that the water level has reached "knee level."

Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, respectively, occurred nine hours apart on February 6 in Kahramanmaras Province in southeastern Turkey. These quakes affected 11 provinces of the country and its neighboring countries, including Syria. The Turkish authorities have called these quakes the "catastrophe of the century."
