The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the development of relations with its neighbors as a priority. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani told this to reporters in Yerevan on Wednesday.
"In Iran’s foreign policy neighborhood principle, both Armenia and the establishment of stability and peace in the region have an important and unique place.
“I am in Armenia at the invitation of my Armenian colleague. Yesterday and today we had very productive discussions with my Armenian colleague, as well as with the Armenian foreign minister. During those meetings, Iran's stable position in ensuring peace in the region was emphasized. During the meetings, we emphasized that Iran is always a stable and reliable partner in the region in establishing peace and security.
“Also, we emphasized that the countries of the region are the guarantors of peace and stability, the presence of foreign forces cannot ensure that peace and stability, they are pursuing other perspectives," said the deputy FM of Iran.
